Prof. Baozhang Chen

Biography:

Professor Baozhang Chen is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Sciences New Zealand (RASNZ) and a Professor at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), CAS. A recipient of the CAS "Hundred Talents Program," he previously served as the Chief Scientist for the National Meteorological Administration’s Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Center. Prof. Chen is a pioneer in Earth system modeling and carbon cycle research. He developed China's first sky-ground dual-carbon digital twin simulator and high-resolution carbon assimilation systems (CT-China, 3-GAS, RCAS), enabling provincial and city-level carbon accounting for national carbon neutrality assessments. In paleoecology, he identified 8,000-year-old rice cultivation remains at the Jiahu site, marking the earliest known history of rice domestication. He has led over 20 national key R&D projects, authored over 200 papers in journals like Nature Communications, and holds multiple national invention patents.

Prof. Bing Xu

Biography:

Bing Xu, 2008- Professor, Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University. MS PhD, Environmental Science, University of California, Berkeley. Director, Ministry of Education's Field Ecological Observation and Research Station for East Asian Migratory Birds and Habitat. Fellow of China National Committee of the International Society for Digital Earth. Council Member of the Chinese Society for Sustainable Development, and the Geographical Society of China. Her research interests focus on multi-resolution remotely sensed data fusion, modeling of infectious disease transmission and pathogen evolution, and the impact of climate change on urban ecological system and human health. She published 10 book chapters and 200 SCI journal articles, with 30K+ citations in Google Scholar and an H-index of 84. She has also ranked among China’s top 30 in Research.com’s Best Scientists in Ecology and Evolution for four consecutive years. She was recipient of a number of research awards including Early Career Award from Association of American Geographers, Superior Research Award from the University of Utah, Elsevier Atlas award. She served as President of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Science (CPGIS).

Researcher, Juanle Wang

Biography:

Juanle Wang is a researcher at the Institute of Geographic Science and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently the Deputy Director of the National Earth System Science Data Center and the Director of the Earth Data Science and Sharing Research Office. He received a doctorate from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005 and visited the University of Michigan in the United States from 2016 to 2017. He has long been engaged in research on earth system science data sharing, the Belt and Road space information system and environmental remote sensing, disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge services. He presided over a number of national scientific research projects, served as the director of the ISC-WDS Renewable Resources and Environment Data Center, the head of the China Working Group of the World Data System ( WDS ) of the Chinese Geographical Society, and the deputy editor-in-chief of the Journal of Resources and Ecology.

Prof. Hongjun Su

Biography:

Hongjun Su, Professor, PhD Supervisor, Vice President, School of Geography and Remote Sensing, Hohai University, National Talent Program Youth Project Candidate, National Science Foundation for Outstanding Young Scholars. Long-term engaged in hyperspectral remote sensing, remote sensing information intelligent processing, watershed remote sensing and other research, selected the top 2 % of the world 's top scientists list. He presided over 6 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, more than 20 projects at the provincial and ministerial levels, published more than 80 high-quality papers, and published many monographs and textbooks. He is also the deputy editor-in-chief of IEEE JSTARS and Journal of Applied Remote Sensing, the editorial board member of Journal of Remote Sensing, and a member of the Information Geography Committee of the Chinese Geographical Society.
